Mark And Kathy Hofer Endowed Power Line Technology Scholarship

Mark and Kathy Hofer are avid supporters of Mitchell Tech’s Power Line and Construction program. Mark has served on various electric cooperative boards for several years both on a local and national level. The Hofer’s have sponsored this scholarship since 2007 and created an endowed fund in 2014 to support the Power Line Scholarship and Wind Turbine Technology Scholarship. The Power Line award recipient will be selected by the SD Line Superintendents from applications provided by the Mitchell Technical College Foundation from those received during their Fall application period. The scholarship will be awarded at the beginning of the second semester each year and applied to the recipient’s account the same semester.
Power Line Construction & Maintenance
Applicant must be currently enrolled full-time as a student in the Power Line program at MTC Applicant must maintain a GPA of 2.0 or above Applicant/parent/guardian must be a member of a SD Electric Cooperative Applicant must complete the MTC online application during the open application period as instructed to be eligible for this scholarship

Mark And Kathy Hofer Endowed Wind Turbine Technology Scholarship

Mark and Kathy Hofer began their scholarship support of the Wind Turbine Technology program in 2010. Mark has served on the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association board and has realized the importance of education to young people. The scholarship will be awarded in January each year and applied to the recipient’s account the following Fall semester.

Mark Hohn Hoof Hauler Scholarship

Mark was a 1984 graduate of the Mitchell Tech Agriculture program. Has passed away from a tragic farm accident in December of 2021. He dedicated his entire life to farming and the agriculture industry. Mark was known for his caring, outgoing, and giving personality and assisting a young farmer to get an agriculture education is a perfect tribute to Mark and his love for farming and his legacy.

Applicant must be accepted or currently enrolled as a full-time student in Animal Science, Agronomy, Ag Business or Precision program at Mitchell Technical College. Applicant must maintain a GPA of 2.5 or higher Applicant must complete the MTC online application during the open application period as instructed to be eligible for this scholarship

Martha Fay Krueger Memorial Scholarship

The Martha Fay Krueger Memorial Scholarship fund was established in 2019 by her family to honor Martha Fay after she lost her fourth battle to cancer. Martha Fay was a caring, hardworking, strong woman, who was loved dearly by many. Martha Fay lived in Howard, SD where she worked incredibly hard to support her family. In her spare time, she stayed busy by cooking and crocheting. Other than her husband, Bill, children and grandchildren, one of her greatest joys in life was sharing her homemade things with others.
The scholarship will be awarded to a incoming, full time student enrolled in any program at MTC who has a GPA of 2.0 or higher Preference will go to a student whose life has been affected by cancer, someone from Howard, SD or who has worked or has a parent who works at PBM Packaging where Martha Fay was employed for 24 years. Applicant must complete the MTC online scholarship application to be eligible for the scholarship

Mike Blasius Memorial Scholarship

Raymond “Mike” Blasius owned and operated Blasius Construction in Kimball, SD for nearly 50 years before his death in March 2022. Mike held his crew to the highest expectation of work ethic and attendance and was known for his quick and witty sense of humor. This scholarship will be awarded to a current Mitchell Tech student in a Construction and Manufacturing Technologies program who exhibits excellent attendance and work ethic. Preference is given to students from Mike’s hometown of Kimball, SD and the surrounding area.

Mitchell Area Manufacturing Association (M.A.M.A.)

The Mitchell Area Manufacturing Association (M.A.M.A.) has been active in Mitchell for many years. It is a membership organization structured specifically to “promote and improve Mitchell and the surrounding communities by maintaining a strong manufacturing base and developing quality employment”. South Dakota manufacturers export South Dakota-made products to approximately 140 countries worldwide. Manufacturing is a major driver of the Mitchell economy with over 2,000 employees in the local industry. In 2016 M.A.M.A. teamed up with the Mitchell Technical College Foundation to provide a scholarship each year for students enrolled in the Welding and Manufacturing Technology or Automation Controls/SCADA program.
Automation Controls/SCADA Machining and Manufacturing
Applicants must complete the MTC online application during the open application period as instructed to be eligible for this scholarship Applicants must obtain a reference if requested on the application Students must maintain a GPA of 2.5 or higher Applicants who receive the Build Dakota Scholarship or receive Workforce Recruitment or Double Edge financial support are eligible to receive the M.A.M.A. scholarship Scholarship recipients will be selected by a MTC scholarship committee and M.A.M.A. representatives with references requested from the applicant’s instructor The scholarship recipient will be expected to attend the Manufacturing week meetings held in the Fall to be recognized

Mitchell Area Power Sports Scholarship

The scholarship was established in 2019 by several Mitchell-area power sports dealers. The scholarship will be awarded in January each year and applied to the recipient’s account the following Fall semester.
Power Sports & Marine Technology
Applicant must be currently enrolled full-time as a first year student in the Power Sports and Marine Technology program at MTC with plans to complete an AAS degree in Power Sports Technology. Minimum GPA of 2.5 Applicant must complete the MTC online application during the open application period as instructed to be eligible for the scholarship
