Home Builders Of The Sioux Empire Scholarships

Home Builders of the Sioux Empire has been offering scholarships to Architectural Design and Building Construction students since 2003. The scholarships awarded to Current student recipients will have funds applied to their accounts the Fall semester of their second year. The scholarships will be selected by a committee comprised of ADBC instructors and Mitchell Tech staff.
Architectural Design and Building Construction
Scholarships will be awarded in September to students currently enrolled as full-time second year Architectural and Building Construction students. Students must complete the online application in the Fall of their first year as instructed to be eligible for these scholarships. The funds will be applied to their accounts at the beginning of the second semester of their second year Scholarship recipients must be members of the NAHB in order to receive the scholarships

IJ Carey Memorial in Livestock Evaluation

IJ Carey supported our Animal Science programs at Mitchell Tech. This scholarship was established by his family to be awarded to a student who is current student and apart of the livestock judging team.
Current Student Second Year Student Animal Science On Campus
Must be a second year full-time student who is a member of the livestock judging team Must be enrolled full time Applicant must complete the MTC Online application to be eligible to receive this scholarship.

Interstates Endowed Scholarships

Interstates, Sioux Center, Iowa, has been a great industry partner of Mitchell Tech. Interstates began offering scholarships to ECM students in 2004 and their Endowment achieved full funding in 2012. The scholarships will be awarded in January each year and applied to the recipient’s account the following Fall semester.
Electrical Construction & Maintenance
Applicant must currently be enrolled as a first year full-time student in the Electrical Construction & Maintenance program at MTC Applicant must complete the MTC online application during the open application period as instructed to be eligible for this scholarship Applicant must maintain and GPA of 3.0 or higher

Jeffrey L. And Trudiann Nelson Rural Electric Endowment

The Jeffrey L. and Trudiann Nelson Rural Electric Endowment was established in December of 2013 in celebration of Jeff’s retirement from East River Electric. Several of Jeff’s counterparts in the industry, East River Electric, and Jeff’s family came together to complete the endowment on behalf of Jeff and his wife Trudiann in honor of Jeff’s commitment to Mitchell Tech and the industry he served. Nelson has offered his support of Mitchell Tech through his involvement in Mitchell Tech’s Strategic Advisory Committee, program Advisory boards and most recently as a member of Mitchell Tech’s Foundation Board.

Applicant must be an accepted full-time student enrolled in the Power Line Construction & Maintenance, Electrical Utilities & Substation, Automation Controls/SCADA, and Wi-Fi Broadband Technologies/Telecommunications programs Applicants must complete the MTC Incoming student online application during the open application period to be eligible for this scholarship

John And Diane Weber Culinary Endowed Scholarship

This scholarship has been established by the family and friends of John Weber, former Culinary Academy of South Dakota instructor, and his wife Diane, who was an Mitchell Tech alum. The scholarships will be awarded in January each year and applied to the recipient’s account the following Fall semester.
Culinary Academy of South Dakota
Full-time enrollment at MTC’s Culinary Academy of South Dakota (first year or second year). Maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Program instructor recommendation Complete the MTC online application during open application periods.

Kenneth was a man who loved farming and was an incredible mechanic. He farmed near Letcher for many years. In loving memory, his family has established the Kenneth B. Carlson Agricultural Scholarship.

The Lewis Bainbridge Family is a dedicated supporter of Mitchell Tech’s Ag programs and the Mitchell Technical College Foundation. They have provided scholarships for students since 2007. Lewis was a member of the Mitchell Technical College Foundation Board for many years. The scholarship will be awarded in January each year and applied to the recipient’s account the following Fall semester.
Agricultural Business Agronomy Animal Science Precision Ag Technology
Applicant must be currently enrolled full-time as a first year student in the Ag Business, Animal Science, Agronomy or Precision Ag programs at MTC with plans to complete an AAS degree Applicant must complete the MTC online application during the open application period as instructed to be eligible for this scholarship Recipient may be selected by scholarship committee along with instructor input

Lisa Smart Memorial Scholarship

Kim and Michael H Mohr established the Lisa Smart Memorial Scholarship to honor the memory of Kim’s sister, Lisa, a nurse who passed away at the age of 37 from cancer. The donor wishes to award the scholarships annually at the MTC Nursing Pinning Ceremony. Students must complete the Fall Current Student Foundation Scholarship application.
